ÅAC Microtec: ÅAC Microtec wins strategic follow-on order from Japan for latest Sirius subsystems

ÅAC Microtec wins strategic follow-on order from Japan for latest Sirius subsystems

ÅAC wins yet another follow-on order from a Japanese customer for supply of the latest Sirius avionics subsystem, this time based on the LEON3FT soft core processor. The subsystems will be integrated in the customer's satellite that is expected to be launched in 2019-2020. The order, which is expected to be delivered in Q4 2018, is valued at approximately 1.4 MSEK.

Following on from an order for Engineering Models in November 2017 and Flight Models in May 2018, the customer has extended their order by upgrading the previously ordered flight models. The Flight Models that are to be integrated into the customer's spacecraft will now incorporate the LEON3FT software processor. Integration of the LEON3FT processor adopts the avionics to what is a "de facto" industry standard choice for processors in larger satellites. Moreover, it provides an additional layer of reliability and comes with a long heritage of in-flight operations. The spacecraft is expected to be launched during 2019-2020.

- Our growth in the Japanese market has been exceptional. The order intake shows the continuing confidence of our customers in our product range. This our latest order also allows us to gain flight heritage for the latest generation of our avionics subsystems, says Iraklis Hatziathanasiou, VP Business Development.
