The Golden Gavel is an award for effective and business-oriented board work and was established by the auditing and consulting company Deloitte and the non-profit organization the Swedish Academy of Board Directors. The jury's motivation for the winner of the Golden Gavel 2020 for Region West;

Mikael has been the Chairman of the Board of Absolent since 2011 when the company had net sales of about SEK 130 million and developed the company into today's publicly listed group, which had net sales exceeding SEK 1 billion in 2019.
